Makeup: Types of Foundation - Which is the best suitable texture for your skin?

Basically people like me, who understood foundations in only two ways : Liquid and pressed powder compact, will receive some profound enlightenment today, in my Beauty lookout section. I was mortified and overwhelmed by watching varieties when I stepped into the make up revenue; hunting for a foundation and came across exploring others. Different skin type, different texture of foundation. Next comes, quest of selecting the colour of skin-tone shades! Let's check out some of the foundations I got to bag :

1. Liquid Foundation: Most popular and traditional foundation of them all. (Certainly in India, though) With over hundred of shades and thousands of brands, the liquid foundation is available for all skin types with easy availability, be it at major supermarkets or chemists. They are majorly bottled in oil based and water based. Water based works exceptionally for oily or acne-prone skin type. Whereas, oil based is greasier that blends well for drier skin or wrinkle lines. Comparatively, the oil-based is a bit thicker as well.

2. Pressed powder foundation: To make you tick fast, it's the compact I am talking about. Again, with lots of choices in shades, the pressed powder foundation is created meant-to-be for oily skin type. The skin that keeps shining, needs compact to absorb excessive oil and hide fine lines. The bonus for using this foundation is having the matte look! Too bad, people with dry skin should avoid it as it contains no moisture. The face already lacks shine and furthermore, will turn up looking patchy.

3. Loose powder foundation: Also known as, Mineral foundation. They are super organic and natural, composed of fine ground minerals. It does not contain any sort of chemicals or preservatives therefore, best for sensitive skin. The brush comes along with it, as a pair. If not, you might have to buy the 'applicator brush'. Plus point ahead.. It can be used in powder form as well as in liquid form. It initially comes in loose powder form. However, in liquid form, the powder is to be mixed with water and then applied with a sponge or fingers to even it out (Your alternative organic liquid foundation!).

4. Tinted Moisturiser: These are like the BB and CC creams but less creamy and thinner. It's a package of (3 in 1) or (2 in 1) moisturiser cream with a tint of colour and spf. The motto is to protect the skin as well as keep it moisturised and give it an effective make up coverage. It is a light make up, which may not help cover the deep blemishes or ageing lines but is ideal for summer going days or places like; at beaches. Best buy for the normal to dry skin - it hydrates, moisturise, protect whilst cover an even skin tone colour.

5. Mousse/ Whipped foundation: Ultimately, we are talking about foundations that prepares the face for make up application. Mousse comes to rescue here for such acne-prone and rosacea skin type where the coverage is maximum and prevents uneven pigmentation visibility. A must try, for a perfect make up day. With having moisturising properties too, it helps blend smoothly, for drier skin. Good call overall, as it conceals and stays longer!

Want to know more?

1. While the make up sits on your face for rest of the day, apply moisture beforehand, to keep the skin hydrated all along.

2. Later, use 'foundation primer', that creates a wall-like between skin and foundation. A shield to protect your skin from make up ingredients. Stays put in hot weather and gives a smoother surface for a better make up performance.

2. Grab those foundations that are hypoallergenic, fragrance free, paraben free, and loaded with moistures with gentle sunscreens.
